3 months, etc

So much to write about, I will try to condense it all down...I can't believe my baby is already 3 months old! Where did the time go?? Here is a glimpse of V at 3 months:
-She usually sleeps for about 7/8 hour stretches now each night, sometimes she surprises us, like last night when she went about 11 hours, woo hoo!
-She fusses less during tummy time, but she still doesn't love it, it may be a while before she learns to roll over, but we will keep working on it...
-She is "talking" SO much. She is so cute, she stares at you when you are talking to her and coos back. Ev laughs at me b/c I act like we are having a conversation (a la Amy and Anthony, Ev always says "and grandpa flies the airplane..." ha, Anthony we miss you SO much)
-She still wears 0-3 month sleepers, but 3-6 month clothing fits her now too
-She is almost ready for size 3 diapers
-She loves looking at books, we look at her "Mirror Me" baby Einstein book, and the cow page with baby McDonald seems to be her favorite, she always smiles and coos at it, she could care less about the monkey named Violet right now...
-She likes to hang out in her bumbo seat, which is great if I need to wash bottles or do something in the kitchen
-She has a newfound love/fascination with her bouncy seat. She has always liked it, but lately she gets SO excited and starts kicking her legs and trying to grab the toys that hang on it.

We have had a busy November. My friend Breanna was in town with her fiance Peter!! Yay, congrats to you, we are so excited for your wedding! They got to come meet Violet and brought her some cute pjs and a toy. Thanks! I love the sleep sack, it is SO easy and keeps her warm at night. I am sad I didn't get any pics of them with V, I was too busy catching up with Breanna (we used to work together in Dallas). Oh well, next time you are in town for wedding stuff we will get some pics.
We had a great Thanksgiving. We started the day bright and early at Nana's house for breakfast. Violet got to meet lots of her family on daddy's side. We then went to Ev's parents for lunch. It was a great relaxing day,we ate too much yummy food. I can't wait for Violet to eat real food next year, it will be so fun experiencing that with her!
I went back to work the week after Thanksgiving. It was SO hard to leave Violet. It has been such a blessing being home with her the first 12 weeks of her life. I am so thankful that she gets to spend time with her daddy, Grandma and Grammy, though, it is the best possible situation.
We are getting in the Christmas spirit around here, our tree is up and decorated, and Vivi loves looking at the lights and sparkly ornaments. I still have tons of shopping to do, but I am one of the weird ones who thinks it is fun to get out in the craziness. Ha, I am sure I will change my tune now that I have a little one to take with me...Hope you are having a great Christmas season, we are having so much fun singing Violet new Christmas songs, especially Away in a Manger and Silent Night...

Happy Turkey Day

This is just a quick post, b/c Violet is getting hungry! We are excited about Thanksgiving tomorrow. Violet is ready to meet some of Ev's family that she hasn't seen yet. We are going to his Nana's for breakfast bright and early and then we will spend the day at Grammy and Grandpa's. I will be missing my family in New Jersey, Cali and McKinney, I wish we all lived on the same street!! I have to go back to work this Saturday, and I am definitely not ready. I feel like the past few months have just blown by, and I can't believe V is getting so big. I will be missing her this weekend while I am working, but she will be home with daddy, so I know she will be happy. Here are some cute pics of Violet with Ev. She is so in love with daddy and gets so excited when he gets home from work. The last pic is of a cute stuffed dog that Violet loved! Hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

2 months part two

So, I was not able to finish my 2 month post the other day, here is a glimpse of what V is doing at 2 months:
-She is still eating great
-She has recently discovered the bumbo seat. She starts leaning to the side after a few minutes, but she has realized it is fun to be in on the action. I usually put her in the bumbo and set her on the island when I am making breakfast or washing bottles.
-She is not quite sleeping though the night. She will go about 6 hours for her long stretch, but I haven't figured out how to time her long stretch to my advantage, ha.
-She still loves bathtime and has discovered it is fun to kick her feet in the water to make splashing sounds, ha!
-She does great in the car and on outings.
-She loves her paci, but Ev and I have a love/hate relationship with it. She can't hold it in her mouth for long, so she wakes screaming when she realizes it has fallen out. It is exhausting getting up every few minutes to put it back in, and I am trying not to get in the habit of sleeping with her, but man it is so much easier to just put her in bed with me and keep my hand on the paci.
-Tummy time is not her favorite activity of the day, but she is getting so strong!
-She loves her daddy for sure! She gets so excited when she hears him, she starts breathing faster and kicking her leg.
-She smiles SO much now and I can't get enough of it! She laughed out loud for the first time today at her silly mama!
-She is wearing 3 month clothes now, I need to clean out all her newborn and 0-3 stuff to send to baby Stella. I remember feeling like she would never outgrow her newborn clothes, it makes me tear up to look at all her cute little sleep dresses that are now too small.

It is definitely feeling like winter today, it is cold and windy outside. I took V outside today all bundled up and she was so calm, she loves being outside for sure. I am trying not to think about how I have to go back to work next week. These past weeks have absolutely flown by. I have never been more tired, or exhausted, but at the same time so happy and so in love with my sweet baby! Enjoy the pics, and hope you are having a great week.

Violet loves her Auntie Ashley and has so much fun when she comes over to visit.

2 months

Violet had her 2 month checkup today, here are the stats: she weighs 12 lb, 5oz, and is 22 inches long. Her weight is in the 90th percentile and her height is in the 50th percentile. Dr R is happy with her growth and development, so that makes for a very happy mommy. My little pumpkin even tried to show off and was thinking about rolling over, 'atta girl! She did not, however enjoy her shots, nor did mommy, but this time daddy was there to rescue V and he made it all better for her. She has been fussy, and most of the day has been spent in my arms. She is just now taking a good nap in her swing, unfortunately it is about 5:45, but I will just go with it for now. Oops, as I sit here typing this, she is starting to fuss again, oh well, at least I have dinner made...

Birthday Fun!

Last weekend we went to Kael's 7th birthday party! It was Violet's first party to attend and she had so much fun with all her family!! Here are some fun pics of the past few weeks. If you happen to read this on or before Monday morning, please say a little prayer for us. V has her 2 month check up which means...more shots. I am definitely not looking forward to it. Hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather. We are going to plant some flowers and I am finally getting my haircut tomorrow after a VERY long time!!

We have been taking it easy the past few weeks. Violet got to finally meet her Auntie Mer, Uncle Tony and cousin Brady. It is torture living so far apart because I know when Vivi gets a little older she will love playing with Brady and Stella since they are all pretty close in age. We are looking forward to this weekend, Kael is turning 7! I can't believe my nephew is that old. I still remember meeting him in the hospital for the first time. I have this feeling I will blink and Violet will be 7...I still have about 5 weeks left until I go back to work. I am loving being at home with Vi, I don't want to think about leaving her yet. I am so happy I have been able to take time off to be with her. She is changing so much everyday, it has been so much fun getting to watch her grow so closely. Enjoy all the pics!!

Lots of pics to share

Warning: this post contains TONS of pictures. I have not been able to post in a while, so I think this will more than make up for it. We have had a busy past 2 weeks, even though I have no idea what we have been doing (ha). Violet had her 1 month check up this week. Thank you mom for coming with us, we both needed the emotional support. Violet had to get her first hep B shot, and both mommy and Grandma were crying along with Vi...She weighs 9 lbs, 10 oz and is 20 inches long. I knew she was putting her milkie somewhere...We have had lots of visitors over the past few weeks, so see below for the pics. Things are going pretty good in babyland, not much sleep, but that is to be expected, I think I will become a coffee drinker again. We are looking forward to the weekend, Violet will get to meet her cousin Brady for the first time. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy all the pics! Have a good weekend!
