Silly

Violet is becoming quite the little ham! She is so much fun and definitely has a cheesy smile that can't help but make you laugh, ha! She lets us know if she doesn't like something, that is for sure. Looks like mommy needs to start reading "The Strong Willed Child." Violet has a sweet personality, but has started having little fits when we correct her. I am not a fan, that is for sure! We are working hard to raise a sweet girl, but I am starting to see that little independence trying to come out. I am SO thankful for the love and guidance of a Savior who knows every day of our little one's life, even the harder days! Here is our girl, showing off for the camera.

Final B-day post: Cake time!!

SO, I said Vi's birthday would be a lot of posts, didn't I? Haha. Well, if you are still reading, here is the final first birthday post. Vi definitely loved her cake. It took her a little time to figure out exactly what to do with it. Soon, however, she figured it out and enjoyed every bite! Thanks Auntie Ashie for hosing off my high chair, ha, and helping me in the tub!

Birthday Party-part 1

SO, I am finally posting about Violet's birthday party!! We had so much fun. Violet is one blessed little girl and we enjoyed celebrating our girl with many of our friends and family present! Violet definitely had a fun day, and was worn out by bedtime. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our girl, and thank you to everyone who sent gifts and who was with us in spirit. There are SO many pictures to post, so I am going to do a few different posts to try to get all the pics in. We hope you are having a great weekend. Violet has been a little sick this week. She has had a runny nose for a little over a week, and today has had a high fever. (101, which is high for her). I am doing a car seat check tomorrow, and then we plan to just hang around the house this weekend and rest. I am hoping Vi is just cutting a tooth, and that her symptoms don't develop in to something else. We wish we could be in New York to go to the Buddy Walk with you Anthony! (and Aunt Amy, Uncle Ray, Grandma and Grandpa of course). Take lots of pics for us. If you want to learn more about the buddy walk, please go to: www.buddywalk.org. Enjoy all the pics and the many posts to follow.

Birthday cupcake

Violet's first birthday would not be complete without her first cupcake. I am making her a cake for her big party this weekend, but she got to celebrate with her first treat! She definitely loved it. She was just silently eating away, looking at me wondering why I was making such a big deal. But then she started saying, "MMM" and getting SO excited. I can't wait to see her dig in to her cake with frosting, it will be a "hoot." ( I know, cheesy, but couldn't resist...) Enjoy the pics of Miss V and see you Saturday!

One year

Wow, has it really been a whole year since our sweet baby girl came in to our lives? This has been without a doubt, one of the hardest, but best, years of my life. When I think about how much Violet has grown, all she has learned, and all that is yet to come, it completely blows my mind. When we were in the hospital, all I wanted to do was take my baby home. And now, those very difficult times just seem like a blur...1Samuel 1: 27-28: "I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. So now, I give him to the Lord. For his whole life will be given to the LORD." Isn't God AMAZING!! Sweet Violet, what are you up to at 12 months old?

-You still sleep around 12 hours a night with 2 naps a day
-You now have 5 teeth: 3 on top and 2 on bottom
-You love to eat! You still eat baby food, but you are loving table food too, and you definitely prefer to eat what everyone else is eating. Some of you new faves are pear slices and steak.
-You are standing up by yourself. You haven't walked yet, but now when you hold onto things, you are not afraid to "walk" while holding on.
-You love your books, blankie and bottle
-You love to play, play, play. You have a good attention span, and will stay focused for a while with your toys.
-You are loving your new tea set and purse from your Aunties
-You love to take things out of bags, unpack suitcases and empty laundry baskets...
-You have SO much personality. You love to dance, and are such a happy girl.
-Vivi we love you MORE than words! You have made this last year so wonderful and we can't wait to see the life that God has in store for you!

Can you believe how much our girl has changed?
