First Ponytail

Violet's hair has really started growing in, finally! Evan and I were both pretty much bald for a long time as babies, so her genes aren't exactly helping her, ha! But, she now has just enough on top to make ponytails! Now I just need to find some kind of hair band that she can't pull out...

Quiet

The other day I was doing the dishes or something in the kitchen, and Violet was playing away. When things got quiet and she quickly disappeared from the kitchen, I knew she was up to something. I heard some typing and discovered her here trying to type on my "compooter" as she says...But look at this face. She was turning on the charm and it totally worked...this time at least.

Wordless Wednesday

I- Spy

Violet loves to get out her ocean book.It is the coolest book. All the pages (used to) connect to form a circle. When Vi was really little she loved to sit in the middle of the circle and stare at all the bright colors. Now she loves to play I-Spy. She gets so excited when she finds something, it is SO cute I had to catch it on video!

New Shoes

Vivi got her first pair of sparkly flip flops! She definitely loves the sparkle! Thanks Aunt Barbara for V's new shoes!

Wordless Wednesday

Payton visits

Yay summer!! It means all of Vi's cousins are out of school and can come play! Violet LOVES Payton. I mean, love is not even strong enough of a word. I wish I could catch the excitement on camera. Violet about jumps out of her skin when she sees Payton. She came over and spent the night, and it seems like it was the most fun Violet has had in a long time! I snuck in to get some pics when they were snuggling watching elmo...

Dallas Arboretum

Ev had a work event at the Arboretum. They have a trial garden every year for people in the nursery/landscape business to walk through and see new varieties. Well this year, Violet and I tagged along. My mom and Aunt Susan came too. We walked around everywhere. It was so much fun! Violet definitely loved everything, especially all the little houses to go in and explore. We will definitely go back in the future, but we will wait until fall when the temps drop some more, because it was HOT!

Peek a boo Violet!

Park

Due to the lovely Texas heat, we have been feeling cooped up around here lately. It is so sad seeing Violet look outside saying "too hot!" I just decided we need to have more park dates! We are blessed to have three nice parks really close to our house. As soon as we finish breakfast, we go to the park and play until the heat gets unbearable. The other day, Violet literally ran from one end of the park to the other. She played so hard and was so worn out! She saw my car and said: " Yay mommy's car, let's go!"  Usually, leaving the park is a battle, but the heat really wipes us out. Vi has been thinking that she doesn't need as many naps lately. But park days always equal really long nap days!!
