So, I just checked out our blog and realized the captions were all out of order for the pictures and the text I wrote didn't save....sorry about that. We had a fun time going to see Auntie NeNe. Violet hadn't seen her in a while and was so excited and cute when Renee would talk to her. We will definitely be having more lunch dates with Renee soon!! We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house while we were in Dallas so Vi could hang with Grandpa, since she doesn't get to see him that much. She was so funny checking out his moustache, she had to touch it and stare at it. We also got to Skype with Auntie Amy and Anthony. Violet wasn't so in to it, but it was fun talking to Anthony and Amy. Violet got to try out Grandma's new little girl bedding, can you tell we are a family who loves owls? We also had a visit from Auntie Ashley. Violet has had a fun, but busy past 2 weeks, enjoy the pics, they have no captions this time b/c it is just too much work at the moment...XOXO...

Cereal for the first time.

So, Violet tried cereal for the first time. Mommy wasn't quite ready for her to try it, but daddy was, so I gave in and, well, she wasn't all that interested yet. She was making the funniest faces and looking at us like "what is going on, where is my bottle?" It was too cute. We will definitely keep trying it and I know eventually she will like it.

4 Months!

Wow, can you believe our girl is already 4 months and 2 weeks old?? I sure can't, I am not sure where this month has even gone. V's doctor appt was great this week. She weighs 16 lbs, 9 oz and is 26 inches long. Her height, weight, and head are all in the 97th percentile!! I have a feeling we have a tall girl on our hands! Here are some things Violet is up to at 4 months old:
-Sleeping GREAT at night, sometimes up to 12 hours at a stretch (I couldn't believe it either)
-Actually napping in her bed! I was sure I did something to make her hate sleeping in her crib during the day, but I guess she just had to be ready for it on her own time (I know, imagine that, me having a strong willed child, ha!)
-V LOVES her hands. She stares at them all the time. She is constantly holding them in front of her face and watching them move, it is so cute.
-She has been rolling from front to back for about a month now. Yay for tummy time! She doesn't scream any more when she is on her tummy, I think she realized it is fun!
-Speaking of hands, they are usually in her mouth. She started sucking her thumb, and I woke up to the sounds of her smacking on her fingers this morning, so funny.
-She likes to look at herself in the mirror. I think she has realized how cute she is for sure!
-She is always talking, I feel like every few days she has new voices to share with me.
-She loves her mommy, but she is definitely a daddy's girl, she loves talking to her daddy, especially after he gets home from work.
We are having so much fun with Violet. I absolutely love being a mommy, it is the best thing ever! It is getting a little easier to work, but I still wish I could be home with Violet. I definitely treasure all the time I get to spend with her.
Ev and I had our 3rd anniversary this week. We have been married for 3 years now. It has been a fun 3 years, and I am looking forward to the future for sure! I have the best hubby and wouldn't want to be on this journey of life with anyone else!
One of the amazing doctors I work with does a lot of work in Haiti, and he is on his way there now, as are some of my coworkers from the ER. Please say a prayer for them when you have a moment.
Well, I guess that is all for now, enjoy some new pics of our sweet baby.

Close up pic, love the hands.
I still like it when mommy wears me in my sling.
Hands in mouth, of course!

Tummy time fun.

Rosy cheeks.

I love my soft little lambie.

First Christmas

Warning: I think this post has the most pics...ever. So feel free to scroll down to see our cutie pie. December definitely went by in a blur! I can't believe it is already January. Violet's first Christmas was a blast. I had to work this year Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I was definitely sad to be away from Ev and V, but the good news is that I will have the next 2 years of Christmas off. It will be so fun next year when Violet is getting in to everything. Evan and Violet spent Christmas Day with his family. V raked it in! She got SO many cute outfits for Christmas, including her first pair of jeans, complete with glitter! I will post some pics of my stylish baby soon.
Amy, Ray and Anthony (my sissy, bro-in-law, and nephew) were in town and we were SO excited to see them, it has been since about June I think when we saw them last. I could not wait for them to meet Violet. Anthony was so cute and great with Violet, he was just kissing her and talking to her non stop. I hate the miles between all of us. Evan keeps joking that when we win the lottery (we will have to actually play to win, right?), we will just hire Ray as our personal financial planner and buy a big house for them in our neighborhood...Hey, we can dream right? Violet got to be with all of her grandparents, and almost all of her immediate family this Christmas. We missed you Auntie Mer, Aunie Sandi, and Auntie Sheila!
Christmas this year definitely took on a whole new meaning for me as a parent. I love the Christmas Story in Luke ch 2. I was at the same school for grades K-8, and every year as part of our Christmas program, we would recite this chapter, different grades would do different verses. Amazing how I still have it memorized after all these years. I told it to Violet more than a few times, and I know that as she gets older this will be a tradition I want to keep going...I just kept thinking, all season long about how it must have been to be Mary, to give birth to a baby who was the Savior, I don't know how she ever got over the awe of that. I kept thinking about God, how he knew that Jesus was being born in to a world where people would hate him, and put him to death. I hate to think about Violet being sad or hurt because I love her SO much. I can't even fathom the kind of love God has for us, that he would watch Jesus go through all of this, all I can say is WOW!!
I hope 2010 brings all of our loved ones nothing but great things! Violet has her four month check up next week, so check back for all the stats on Miss V! Thank you for all of your love and making 2009 such a great year for us!! xoxo...
