Mommy's prayer

Just warning you, you might need some kleenex before you read this post b/c I was crying while I was typing.

You're a little piece of heaven, you're a golden ray of light

And I wish I could protect you, from the worries of this life

But if there's one thing I could tell you, it's no matter what you do

Hold to Jesus, he's holding on to you.

The world will try to tell you, that might is more than right

That beauty's on the outside, and being good's a losing fight

But remember what I've told you, because the world will make you choose

Hold to Jesus-he's holding on to you

Hold on to Jesus, cling to his love

Rest deep in his mercy, whenever things get rough

Don't lose sight of His goodness, and don't ever lose this truth

That when you hold on to Jesus, he's holding on to you

Hear me dear Jesus, rock this little one to sleep

Keep her close when she's scared, and give her strength when she's weak

I know she'll stumble, but I know she'll make it through

If you hold to her just like you said you'd do

Hold her Jesus

And she'll hold on tight to you...

walking everywhere

Look who is walking!! She really started doing it on her own right before she turned 16 months, and now there is no slowing our girl down!

Snack time with daddy!

I snuck some pics of Vivi enjoying some popcorn with daddy. Like daddy, like daughter!

Elmo jammies

Vi is definitely and Elmo loving girl! She loves all things elmo! She got some new jammies for Christmas and loves wearing them and point elmo out!

First boo-boo

Vivi had her first trip to the ER two weeks ago. The joys of raising a toddler include lots of trips and falls. Unfortunately, this fall involved the windowsill. Our sweet baby was walking to look out her favorite window, tripped and fell right in to it. I heard the screaming from the other room, and knew instantly that something bad happened. As soon I saw her, I knew she would need string bandaids, aka stitches. I am so fortunate to work in the ER, because I called the charge nurse and they had a room ready as soon as we got there, no yucky waiting room for us. Violet was having a blast until she had to be wrapped up and held down. She was breaking my heart. One of her eyes was covered by the sterile drape, and all I could see was her little right eye and her quivering lip. It was a rough day. As soon as we were done, she gobbled up a popsicle. We had chick fil a for lunch, ice cream for dessert, and it was as if nothing ever happened. She played and played and took a long nap. Guess it's true when people say it's harder on the parents than the kiddos. I am happy to say that Vi's stitches are out, and as soon as the steri-strip falls out, we will be sunscreening the heck out of her face for the next year. I need to preserve her future baby gap modeling career, ok? I knew that this day would come, but I have to say I hope it is our first and last experience with string bandaids!!

Out to dinner

Ev's Aunt Sheila and Uncle John were in town for Christmas. I am so glad that we were able to spend time with them. The last time they were here, Vivi was about 6 months old I think. So, it was fun for them to get to see each other after some time had passed. On their last night here, we all went to dinner at Outback. I snapped a few cute pics before diner that I wanted to share, enoy!

Grandpa lovie, he always makes Vi smile so big!

Getting in some Auntie She-she snuggle time.

Violet LOVES her mamaw and talks about her a ton!

Grandma's house

This post has maybe the most pics of any post I have done ever, so be warned, ha! My holiday work schedule was great this year. I ended up having a lot of days off in a row, and Ev took some time off work. We were able to spend lots of time with Amy, Ray and Anthony who were here for Christmas. It was so great to see them. Vi loves Aunt Amy, or aunt "pretty", as we call her now. Violet would say "pretty" to Amy when she would hold her, it was so sweet! Violet had so much fun over the holidays, I think it must have seemed like one long party to her, because every day we were doing something fun. We hope that you had a great Christmas and New Year!

Vivi enjoying her Dora blocks!

An attempt to get a cousin shot all together!

Grandma and Grandpa lovie!

Sissies, but missing our Mer-Mer!

Sweet cousin Kael, he was so helpful with Vivi and she loves him!

Vi and Anthony had lots of playtime together!
