San Antonio

We got back yesterday from San Antonio. We went for the Texas Nursery Landscape Association annual convention/expo. We had a fun week there. Ev unfortunately had a little stomach bug, so he wasn't feeling too great while we were there. He is feeling better now though. Violet and I spent lots of mommy/daughter time together, and it was so great! Every morning after breakfast, Violet and I took a stroll along the river walk before it got unbearably hot. We talked to duckies, waved to people on the river boats and sang lots of songs. Violet is such an outside baby, and there was a breeze along the water that made us able to be outside. We also went swimming a few times in the pool, which Vi loved. She was just splashing up a storm, and having a blast. I am so mad that I didn't snap any pics in the pool, but it just somehow didn't happen. Violet and I also played a TON in our hotel room. She loved it, I think mostly because she was pretty much free to roam around and pull up on stuff without mommy telling her "no", ha! She slept in her new pack and play, which definitely took some adjustment. The first two nights there she woke up before 6 am... Needless to say, we took lots of naps and enjoyed lots of coffee, ha!She was so excited to come back home to her house and her room. She about jumped out of my arms so she could get down and play. I was a little nervous about the car ride there and back, but she did really well. She didn't really sleep much, just played and played. Here are some pics of Vi hanging around the hotel room.

Swimming fun!

We got a Vivi a little pool, complete with a sprinkler, and she loves it! She is definitely a water baby and loves to splash!

Playtime with Payton

Our sweet niece Payton came over and spent the night for her birthday. She picked out a yummy dinner of chicken alfredo and garlic bread, and we made strawberry cupcakes for dessert. To say Violet likes Payton is an understatement, ha. She LOVES her! She was so excited to see her and talk to her, and loved playing with her. Payton was so sweet and helpful, and so good with her. I know that Vivi is going to grow up with a special relationship with Payton. Here are some pics of the fun they had together!

11 Months

Sweet baby girl, you are already 11 months old! What are you up to these days:

-Sleeping about 12 hours a night with usually 2 naps a day. You decided that you want to stay up a little later now, which is fine with mommy when you don't get up until around 7:30!
-You love food! Some of your new faves are hummus, baby yogurt, tomatoes, yogurt melts, goat's milk, tortilla soup and cilantro lime rice from Mi Cocina, and spaghetti! Yum!
-You now have 4 teeth, two on top and two on bottom.
-You have so much to say, you have even started using some signs: more, so big, and clapping when we say "yay"
-You are pulling up on everything you possibly can
-You are crawling everywhere, so fast. You still army crawl everywhere, but it seems to get you where you need to go.
-You love to check out people's teeth, and really love to pull hair, ha!
-You love to dance. Sometimes when you are playing, you will just stop what you are doing and bob your head and move your arms. You must have a "tune in your head" like mommy did as a baby!
-You are SO sweet and mommy and daddy absolutely can't get enough of you!

Vegas Vacation

This post is long overdue, but bear with me. Ev and I went to Vegas a few weeks ago. We had a great time. It was fun to just get away and not have to worry about diapers, laundry or cleaning for a few days. We definitely missed Violet, and it was so hard to leave her. We were excited to pick her up when we got back. Thank you SO much to Grammy for watching Vi for us so that we could have a little vacation together. It was SO hot there. Ev and I were wishing for some cooler temps, but we enjoyed eating yummy food, sightseeing, leaving our money in the slot machines (ha), and just getting to be together!
